Established in 1984 by owner Skip Gardella, Norwalk Marine Contractors is one of the most trusted names in geotechnical construction in CT, RI & NY. We are an innovative industry leader with over 35 years of experience in residential, commercial and government projects. NMC is a full-service pile driving contractor, specializing in all types of driven piles, Helical piles, Stelcor piles and drilled micro piles as well as support of excavation. Our history of designing and building, coupled with engineering expertise and specialized equipment, enables us to fast-track projects and meet challenges with innovative solutions.

In 1984, Norwalk Marine Contractors (NMC) was established as a local marine contractor by Louis “Skip” Gardella. At the time, Skip had the foresight to see that the pile driving industry was becoming more advanced and technical. In response to the changing and evolving industry NMC sought out and invested in staff with extensive experience in the Deep Foundation Industry.
Since then, NMC has grown to become one of New England’s top specialty geotechnical and marine contractors. Specializing in deep foundations and support of excavation, as well as marina design build, we have served many federal, state, and local governments, and numerous commercial and residential clients.
NMC’s reputation as a progressive, full-service provider for geotechnical construction has brought us regional and international recognition. Our projects span from along the rugged Northeast Coast down to Bermuda’s crystal waters.
NMC was the first company to bring the state-of-the-art Junttan Hydraulic Pile Driving Rigs and Hammers to North America, and our Junttan PM25 is still driving piles today!
